Hydeout Productions has just released an emergency announcement that the brilliant Japanese hip-hop producer and DJ Jun Seba (more popularly known under the name Nujabes) passed away last February 26 at 36 years old, due to an auto accident. As an avid fan of his music, this news has left me devastated. I never paid heed to hip-hop music until I heard Nujabes’s wonderful compositions in the anime series Samurai Champloo. Thanks to his music, my mind has become more open to this wonderful musical genre which I would have otherwise ignored.

I’m trying really hard to hold back my tears while listening to the above track. What a great injustice it is for the gifted to die young. RIP, Jun Seba.
