Daily Doses: The Tallest Man On Earth - “Graceland” (Paul Simon Cover) (2010)
Pic: 1920’s - Launch of the USS SonomaI don’t think it’s possible for any cover to hold a candle to the original of this song. The first time I heard Paul Simon sing:
She comes back to tell me she’s gone. As if I didn’t know that, as if I didn’t know my own bed. As if I’d never noticed the way she brushed her hair from her forehead.
I was sold. It started my journey down the Paul Simon catalog road, and I’ve never looked back.
However, that’s not to say this isn’t as good as a cover of this song can be. And it does well demonstrate the power of The Tallest Man On Earth’s (AKA Swedish Singer/Songwriter Kristian Mattson).
If voices could kill.
well if this didn’t just make my day.
